Imagination is a prerequisite for playing any role in a fictional universe, such as that of Star Trek. Without being able to mentally picture oneself in the specific position that one takes on, it is almost impossible to be convincing or have fun. The aspect of fun, of course, plays a BIG role in simming. Why else would one take time each week to do this? However, there are some basics that every simmer should know about his/her post.
