Quick Stats
Eurilai
Class: Class O
Quadrant: Beta
Inhabitants: Eurilains
Affiliation: Royal Monarchy of Eurilai

A Class O planet seeded within the confines of the Romulan Neutral Zone, Eurilai is a massive, mostly tropical planet whose surface is covered 90% with water. Its inhabitants have been space-travelers for longer than most species, and their advanced technology has created political turmoil between the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire.

Environment[]

Eurilai is a massive Class O planet with large gravitational fields which result in larger, more brutish native creatures. The only vegetation that seems to grow tall are the massive "Jurani" Trees, which are on average twice the size as Terran Redwoods. Most of the animals and vegetation exist under water, however, as 90% of the planet's surface is covered in it. At some point in its history, the planet's massive gravitational forces got the better of it, causing one of its three moons to collide with the surface. Although the planet recovered, rings line the world on the entry trajectory.

Government[]

Eurilai is governed by a united, planet-wide monarchy offically known as the "Royal Monarchy of Eurilai". Currently ruled by Princess Kirana, much political turmoil exists on the planet between governing houses and the royal family themselves, who seem to take different sides on whether to begin relations with the United Federation of Planets, the Romulan Star Empire, or expand their own territory into a "Royal Eurilain Star Empire".

Inhabitants[]

The Eurilains are the native inhabitants of their planet, with unusual characteristics that differentiate them from other species in the galaxy. Although humanoid, they share attributes with various different classes of animals, much like the Terran platypus. Eurilains are fur covered, amphibious humanoids who have a jet-propulsion organ hanging from the back of their heads, allowing them to achieve extreme speeds and maneuverability in the water. They live on average to be 600 years old, and are known for traveling in their massive space vessels called "Drednaughts".

Most of their cities are under water, though the continents on the planet are fully populated as well. More recently, they have caught the intrest of both the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire for their advanced "hydro-fission reactor", which utilizes water to generate a nearly inpenetrable shield of energy that is currently twenty times more effective than Federation shields. The Federation and the Romulans are currently trying to entice the Eurilains to join their respective organizations in an attempt to assimilate their technology.
